Do You Have An Idea Worth Spreading? Be a Presenter!

UCCI is pleased to announce TEDxUCCI 2018, which will be held on Saturday, March 10th on the UCCI campus. The theme for this event is "Bridges" and it will examine the many ways that Cayman and the world will evolve in the future.

If you are interested in submitting your application to present at this exciting event and reach the world with your ideas as part of the TED libraries of videos, then you are warmly encouraged to do so.

Apply Now!

Here's what you need to know before applying:

  • Presentation applications will be accepted until December 31, 2017.
  • Your presentation can be spoken or artistic, embracing the theme: "Bridges".
  • If you are not familiar with TED and TEDx events, we encourage you to view some TED Talks online to familiarize yourself with the format and types of presentations delivered at TEDx events. Most importantly, we are looking for ideas worth spreading. Ideally, your idea will need to be defended (i.e., not something self-evident, but an interesting argument, perhaps with an antagonist). Look for an idea the TED world hasn't heard before (in other words, not a copy of a TED Talk you like!)
  • Check out the video below, "What makes a great talk great?" for inspiration and ideas.
  • All TEDxUCCI presentations will be video recorded and made available to the larger TED community (and to the world!) following the event.
  • Your presentation, or "TEDxTalk," should last no longer than 18 minutes: long enough to convey something of significance, and short enough to hold the listeners' attention and be easily watched as a recorded video. Presentations can even be much shorter. The TED format has proven that a carefully prepared idea of this length or shorter can have astonishing impact. Presentations of all lengths (between 4 minutes and 18 minutes) will be considered. There is no Q&A at TEDx events, but there will be plenty of time for presenters and participants to discuss ideas during the event.
  • Be authentic! It's important to present an idea about which you are genuinely passionate -- this will resonate with the audience and will spark discussion. Set aside what you think people want to see and hear. Be you.
  • Presenters are not allowed to "sell" from the stage. TEDxTalks that are seen to be promoting a product or service will not be considered..
  • TEDxUCCI presenters are also participants at the event -- all presenters are expected to stay for the entire event.
  • You are encouraged to apply online using the above link. However, if you experience difficulties using the online form, please email
